Laursen Return On Cards

Martin Laursen could well be on his way back sooner than expected after being sidelined with knee ligament damage since the Carling Cup loss to Chelsea in November.

The Danish international returned to training on Monday and Martin O’Neill explained: ‘He is outside doing a bit. Had it gone ahead, the reserve game last night would have come too early for him because he has only just started back. But next week we would be hoping for that reserve game. And that’s very, very encouraging.’

So watch out, Laursen might be playing for the reserves v Portsmouth next Wednesday.

Would certainly be a welcome return, his form leading up to the injury was nothing short of awesome!
