Aston Villa have announced that Lee Hendrie has re-joined Stoke City on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old midfielder has been the subject of much speculation following links to Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers and a permanent move to Stoke, amongst others.

Looks like that is the end of his Villa career, oh well, there you go, he’ll always remain wasted potential over delivery as far as I am concerned.

  • Obviously suits him to be a big fish in a small pond rather than a small fish in a big pond

  • I think he’s taken the only option available, any team signing him permanently will have offered next to nothing and he’d have wanted 40k per week to keep his Ferrari in juice (Lucas Neill another prime example)

  • Its too late to regret behaving badly, played some good games for us ( I think thats what he was paid to do ) but its now time to go. close the door on your way out please.

  • shame, he really could have been a massive player for Villa, I hate it when people waste their talents. Still, that is the last time he’ll be at Villa Park, he’ll have a few suitors come the summer I guess and at least he proves that he wants to play footie, not sit on the bench. Wonder how much of his wages we still have to pay?

  • we have got a testermonial at end of season for him not sure against who tho , theres whispers against a team from 1982 cuz he wanted to play blues but thats been thrown out of window, anyway i will go to a testimonial , will anyone else

  • I reckon this means we’ve got someone new coming new definitely as why would o’neill let him go at this stage? Thats hell of a lot of midfielders (albeit mediocre ones) we’ve lost this window otherwise…

  • cant see anymore signings myself i hope im wrong, i was confident in us signing another midfielder but after hearing MON today things dont look great, on the upside we do have Young and The HULK cant wait for the trip to newcastle

  • No sign of Milner coming and as for Hendrie I guess there is no point keeping the old boiler if O’Neil dont have plans for him

  • I`ve never been convinced due to the fact he still looks 21 and built like a 14 yr old, decent touch and vision on his day given time and space but just too weak to play Midfield in Prem nowadays.

  • Absolutely chuft with this. Out with the deadwood in with the new better quality replacements (hopefully).

  • Why are sending him back out without brining someone in.It would have been in our favour to hang on to him considering the small squad we’ve got.If we dont sign someone tonight then thats the transfers done.We wont be able to do anything on Wednesday cause of the game.

  • Times up Lee, move on with good grace and gratitude, you have never been brilliant but have been a good squad player. You dont figure in MONs plans so its no disgrace, I would urge you to commit to a new club before you make a titt of your-self.

  • well said col, dont think he has the good grace as it never appeared before but wish him well never the less. ( hope he doesnt start saying how unfair like a teenager).

  • Hear hear Col, If he had managed to actualy reach maturity he could have been a quality player, the bare bones were there, he just threw it away, what a waste. and yes meakers I will try to make that one, but only because I know deep down that he is still a Villan. We look after our own. Some chaps need to remember that.

  • Steff he hardly needs any looking after, hes been on 20k+ for the last 6 years. Greedly little shiite is getting no more of my money.
