Lee Hendrie has talked some more about his future and admitted he doesn’t know where he might end up but he certainly hasn’t ruled out staying at Villa.

‘I’m in the last year of my contract at Villa so you just don’t know. It’s a funny old game. Villa might want me back, I don’t know. At the moment, I just want to continue doing my best for the club. I haven’t spoken to Martin O’Neill since I came here, but when I left Villa he said ‘go and enjoy yourself, you’re still part of my plans.’

Adding: ‘It would be great to work for him and he says he doesn’t want me to leave, but he might think otherwise. It would be nice to see Stoke pushing for promotion. These things can go a long way. Everything is possible.’

I was at the Martin O’Neill forum last night presented by Capital Gold which is aired tonight at 7pm on 1152am. It is well worth a listen and Martin O’Neill seemed to make it very clear when asked that Lee Hendrie is going nowhere permanently until the end of the season at least saying that the player WILL get his testimonial game for 10 years service at Villa.

The Villa manager also seemed very impressed that Lee Hendrie was with the fans to watch his Villa team mates beat Leicester City in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night.
