My interview with Vital Leeds editor Dazza

So are you surprised that Leeds have agreed to sell Fabian Delph?

Leeds have always said if a club came along with the right price they wouldn’t stand in his way. I just wish I knew what the right price is?

What sort of fee do you think would be appropriate?

I think £3 million up front, a number of added clauses including sell on and you to loan him back to us for the season.

He is just 19-years old, just how good do you think he is right now and do you think he is worth the attention he’s attracted? More importantly, from what you’ve seen, just how good could he be?!

I think he could be a very good player, before Christmas last year he was really good. When Simon Grayson arrived he played him in a slightly different position and he didn’t have the same impact.

You could see in his play that he was a class act, he was head and shoulders above other players on the pitch.

To be honest I am happy he could be joining you, I like Martin O’Neill and what he can do with young English players. If he didn’t join you I wouldn’t mind him joining Arsenal who also have a good policy with youngsters.

If he joined Man City would he get the same treatment?

Is he an out and out central midfielder, defensive, attacking…. just what would we be getting if the deal goes through?

Under McAllister he was more box to box, who has a very aggressive streak, a good ball winner, very skilful and the scorer of some terrific goals.

So how are Leeds doing, any sign of a return to the top level at some point or a few more years in the wilderness likely?

We’d do ok if these Premiership vultures left our talent alone!

Seriously, I think we could manage losing Delph in this Division but am not to sure we would if we lost Beckford. I like Simon Grayson and really fancy our chances of promotion this season.
