With Aston Villa announcing the long awaited arrival of Tyrone Mings on a permanent deal from Bournemouth yesterday, fans were naturally delighted with the signing even if it was for the princely sum of £20million and potentially rising to £25million.
It wasn’t just the fanbase who greeted the arrival with joy – or enjoyed the fantastic way the club announced his return to B6.
Villa legend and God, Paul McGrath also took to social media to give his thoughts on the return of the 26-year-old, and it had his seal of approval.
“Have to say how delighted I am with the signing of Tyrone Mings, what a class act the kid is. Still Lv when sky sports has Aston Villa v Premier League opponents. #UTV#Respect# Lets get the party started.”
Mings even replied.
Thank you sir. A special endorsement ????????????

It doesn’t take much for fans to praise McGrath given his service to us, but it’s definitely a ringing endorsement and as the comments on the Tweet show, few could disagree given the performances we saw from Mings in the second half of last year.
