Fans have had enough, Doug:

A big thank you to Tim Nash, your excellent Villa reporter and also of course to the players who stood up against the short sighted, self-serving actions of Doug Ellis.

I’m a Villa fan withholding my hard-earned from the club because of Doug Ellis. I’ve not renewed my long-held season ticket.

There’s a worsening trend with Villa. Just look at the last three managers who all resigned – name another club where that has happened. Usually they are sacked.

Both Graham Taylor and John Gregory have spoken about how the club is run by Doug Ellis for Doug Ellis. And now we have the players saying that Ellis is working against what they want to achieve.

The CEO, Bruce Langham, resigned after less than a year, and before him Mark Ansell ‘left by mutual consent’ after unsuccessfully trying to get Ellis to seek investment in the club.

The fans are sick of him. I don’t demand success, I don’t feel success, or our place in the Premiership is our right. But we do have a right to demand that everyone at the club does their utmost to give the players the best possible chance of success, and winning games.

It’s absolutely clear that this has not been the case for a long time and that the cause is Doug Ellis.

David O’Leary has failings, but the club will not turn itself around while Ellis remains in control. He simply has to go.

Time for a change:

The players, the fans and everyone other than the chairman and his hired sycophants see the need for change at Villa Park.

Congratulations are due to Tim Nash for the fact that Villa players trusted him and his paper to tell it like it is.

But our chairman has no time for the views of the press, his players or of those whom he labels with contempt as mere ‘men of the terraces’.

He will stay on in the face of all criticism because his shareholding allows him to ignore the will of the people time after time.

Rather than question whether the statement is a true reflection of how far our football club has fallen since he took over the then Champions of Europe in 1982, he prefers to seek vengeance against those who dare to question his performance.

There can be no whitewash at Villa Park this time.
