Luke Moore could be close to a return ahead of schedule following shoulder surgery last year.

The striker aggravated his shoulder problem in the match against Chelsea last September. The 20-year-old said: ‘My shoulder feels good and I’m ahead of schedule. Hopefully I’ll be back earlier than people thought. I haven’t got a date but I am looking at some time this month. ‘

‘It’s been frustrating not to be playing. It was depressing when I got injured and realised I would be out for a long time. But that’s the way football is sometimes and you have to accept that things sometimes go wrong. But I’m doing running and a lot of hard work in the gym to get things right. I’m getting there. I’m now more interested in what lies ahead. The sooner I can play again, the better.’

Moore, who had the problem with his shoulder for three years, was able to use the Cleveland Browns medical staff thanks to intervention by Randy Lerner, Moore explained: ‘My shoulder was just hanging out before. Even when I was just walking around, it wasn’t properly in the socket. The specialist pinned my shoulder and tightened up all the ligaments. The people at Cleveland looked after me really well. I’m confident with the work they have done that I will be stronger than ever when I come back.’
