Disappointed that we have no chance of silverware this season, Luke Young has called on the them to treat each game as a Cup Final and to finish the season in style.

We have 12 matches left in order to secure a Champions League place, and being 4 points behind both Chelsea and Liverpool and 5 points ahead of Arsenal, each of those 12 matches are key games.

Speaking on the official site, Young said that all in the camp are disappointed with the previous 7 days but are raring to get back on track and get back to winning ways:

‘This game becomes very important now. We need to get back on track with a win. The manager has made the league his top priority and we have 12 games to go.

‘They are now so, so important – massive – and they will shape our season.

‘There will be a sense of occasion every time we play – and it will be like 12 cup finals, no doubt about it.’

Allowing a few insights into O’Neill’s prematch talks, Young continues:

‘The manager makes it clear beforehand just how important every game is with his demands for a performance anyway.

‘The minimum requirement for every match is effort and application – and that certainly won’t be lacking in the run-in.’

Effort and application are two things that have not been lacking this season, in many ways it’s the effort that has seen us rise to this position in the league.

‘Stoke are a very tough side to play against. Every team which has faced them has known they’ve been in a game – it’s been a really physical battle and I don’t see it being any different this weekend.

‘We have to match that desire and determination to do well.’

Whatever the reasoning for our early season loss to Stoke, we must be better prepared and this time we will know exactly what to expect so their can be no excuses for a failure to secure revenge.
