It has been confirmed tonight that Luke Young will miss the next 3 matches with a torn hamstring, and he’s not the only one on the physio’s table.

Speaking to the BBC Gerard Houllier confirmed that Luke would be out for about 2 weeks with the tear, and that it’s unfortunate because the club originally thought it was only a spasm.

‘The Doctor has told me Luke will need at least another two weeks, because it is a minor tear. It’s a blow because it’s worse than we initially thought.’

Luke as we know missed the clash against Chelsea having picked up the injury in training, and it now means he’ll miss the matches against Sunderland, Burnley and the Blues.

In the same interview on the Official Site Gerard also had good news for fans as he explained the injuries to Dunney, Albie and Heskey are sufficiently cleared up and they will be back in contention for the Sunderland trip.

All 3 have returned to light training, and have shown no ill effects from the Chelsea troubles.

‘Richard has trained normally, Marc trained from Monday and Emile is much better, he did normal training yesterday.’

The news isn’t so good for Gabby, but Houllier is hoping he will return to training next week but he’s definitely ruled out for this week.

‘He won’t be involved this weekend.’
