Makoun Not Rated By Alex McLeish?

The whispers at Villa Park yesterday were that Alex McLeish isn`t too impressed with Jean II Makoun.

Some say (blimey, I sound like Jeremy Clarkson introducing the stig!) he might be shipped off on loan, others that he is moving to (as one put it) ‘some Greek team`.

Seems Olympiakos might be that team.

He came last season for around £5-7million depending on which report you read at the time, lets face it, has never really imposed himself in a game. He started ok and seemed to fade. My hope was he`d get a full pre-season under his belt and maybe push on this year but if Mcleish doesn’t rate him, then hopefully he already has a replacement in mind.



The Daily Mail say that we are in a chase, with QPR (who were laughed at for their £4m bid last week) for West Ham midfielder Scott Parker. He`d make a difference for sure.

Reports suggest Spurs are needing to offload players…. I`d make a cheeky bid for David Bentley… then again, McLeish had him last year at you know where and I think they fell out over some night club doo dah!

And that, for transfer rumours, is that. Not the busiest window we`ve seen is it? Maybe a late flurry for all the teams will happen and we`ll see a few more coming and going. Maybe we won`t!
