Manager endorsement should encourage Smith to give player Villa shot in 19/20

|

The big games keep on coming and Aston Villa must look to get themselves into the play-off places at the end of the season.

Currently, we seem well on track for that at the moment and the form we have shown under Dean Smith has been exemplary.

He’s doing a great job at the moment, then, and it’ll be interesting to see how he looks to build on things come the end of the campaign.

He has talent in the squad already, though, and one man who might well get more minutes next season is young attacker Andre Green.

He has got plenty of potential and, according to Kenny Jackett, he could be a top player for the years to come.

Speaking to Portsmouth’s official website, he said:

“Myself, Joe (Gallen), Phil Boardman, having been in the Midlands for three years, knew he was a big player.

“By the end of his loan here, everybody could see his potential, how good perhaps he could be, what he was going to be.”

Green was on loan at Pompey for the first half of the season but injury limited his playing time.

This endorsement from Jackett needs to be paid attention to by Smith, though, and hopefully the winger gets his shot in 2019/20.
