Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is believed to be willing to give Axel Tuanzebe a shot in his first team in the Premier League campaign of 2019/20 after being impressed by his efforts for Aston Villa this season.

Despite being with us for almost the last two years, the 21-year-old talent only has 29 starting appearances to his name with two additional showings from the bench, and undoubtedly we have only seen the best of him since the arrival of head coach Dean Smith who moved him into the middle of defence.

Having been hit with injury recently, he’s now back with us and has played his part in our record winning run and the slightly longer unbeaten run, and he has a key part to play as we turn our eyes to the Play-Off battle ahead.

With plenty of fans hoping that we’d get the opportunity to secure his future over the summer, Reports of a potential Old Trafford future aren’t comforting but there are two things to bear in mind here.

1 – It’s Manchester United, he may not be there come the new season.
2 – The pressure will be on to sign a star, so Tuanzebe may get a decent crack over pre-season but he could well be available later in the summer.

3 – If we had a lad out on loan who’d impressed and improved as Tuanzebe has and Smith didn’t bring him back to take a closer look, we’d be in an uproar.
