Martin Laursen Blow

Looks like Martin Laursen’s initial optimism might not have born fruit.

Laursen said yesterday he was hoping to be out for no more than three weeks but Martin O’Neill has confirmed the Danish international defender has picked up medial ligament damage and could be out for between 10 weeks and anything up to three months.

‘Martin is going to be out for some considerable time – we could be talking ten weeks or maybe three months. It’s a real blow for him and of course for us. Martin has done well this season and he’d worked so hard to get back to full fitness.’
