We`ve been linked several times to Denmark international defender Jores Okore (see: Click Here ) and now Mat Kendrick at www.birminghammail.co.uk has none other than Martin Laursen giving the 20-year-old man mountain a vote of confidence.

Apparently FC Nordsjaelland have turned down our first bid but negotiations are still ongoing.

Laursen says “He`s very fast and physically really strong – he is a big boy.” And adds he has the ‘right mentality` to fit in. “He sounds like a very nice person with both feet on the ground and he wants to work hard, so that`s very important.”

Adding, “He is definitely one of the best defenders in Denmark.”

Okore players tonight for Denmark.

As we`ve discussed in the forum, the nice thing about this lad is he turned down a move to Chelsea because he is more interested in first team football than the dosh. Laursen says, as one would expect him to say, he can`t think of anywhere better for the player to head!

“He`s only 20 and I wasn`t even a regular in Denmark when I was 20. Playing with the national team will help him mature. He`s got the qualities to become a very good centre-half and I think the Premier League will suit him.”
