Match Stats: Middlesbrough v Aston Villa

|

Aston Villa’s trip this evening to the Riverside Stadium to face Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough side in the Play-Off semi-final first leg, saw us return with the advantage.

We secured a 1-0 victory on the day with Mile Jedinak scoring in the 15th minute of the first half.

It’s still all to do back at Villa Park next Tuesday evening, but our goal advantage means Boro will have to make a game of it, and if they open up to get back into the tie, hopefully, we can take advantage and hit them on the break to secure our place at Wembley in the Play-Off Final.

With the second leg still to come, we at least ensured it didn’t become a Villa old boy routine with Adama Traore and Stewart Downing on display. Here’s to a good night in front of the floodlights and finishing the semi-final stage off in style now as we look to return to the top flight.
