Well it was certainly an interesting press conference today, the man had done his homework on the club and came over very well indeed.
But he has said he doesn’t want to prove the fans wrong, he just wants to win us over and then forward with us all singing from the hymm sheet.
‘Let me prove myself and I will win you over,’ he said. ‘It’s not a case of proving the fans wrong, I want to go forward with them and prove I am the man for this job.’
Speaking about the club in general, the tensions that have arisen by his short hop across Birmingham and what it means to him to have the chance to manage a club of this stature, he said.
‘I wouldn’t say it was a difficult decision but it was a tough one, it’s not every day you get offered a job like this. There is no way I couldn’t have been the manager of Villa.’
