Interesting stuff here, with that said, I don`t get out much!
Anyway, Tim Sherwood has told www.avfc.co.uk that Micah Richards will be the team captain for the upcoming season.
He`s also decided to make Gabby Agbonlahor club captain.
Sherwood explains ‘He (Micah) gives us a fresh start, that’s for sure. He’s someone that’s come in and we think Micah is the correct choice to lead the team. He’s vocal and leads by example.”
This ties in with interviews both Sherwood last season and Ray Wilkins this year have said about bringing in a winning mentality and breaking old losing habits. I guess a fresh start means a new player does have a good shout at shaking things up a bit.
He also adds how pleased he`s been with Richards in pre-season saying he`s fitness is increasing and also that he isn`t afraid to express an opinion.
“He can bring a winning mentality here. It will take time and everyone else will need to pick it up. That will come.’
