Happy Birthday to Milan Baros who returns to his former club Liverpool on his 25th Birthday.

Come on Baros, mark it and your 100th Premiership game with a return to scoring ways!

Martin O’Neill has spoken about Baros and started off about the strikers injury that he picked up in pre-World Cup training with the Czech Republic:

‘Whether it was the rehabilitation, the injury itself or the thought that he would be leaving in the summer, it’s strange that for one so young, he’s taking time to get over it. There’s no doubt that if he can get back, he should be a big asset for us. Eventually, it’s up to the player. We have a new fitness scheme but no matter what you do, it is down to the player eventually. You can encourage, you can cajole but eventually the player is going to have to perform on the pitch.’
‘He’s obviously cost the club a sizeable amount of money, come with a biggish reputation and has scored goals in international football. Maybe he thought it’d be easier for him to adapt. Football is not like that, it’s difficult. It’s not as difficult if you’ve got loads of ability, you’re fit and fresh and raring to go and have confidence but Milan’s confidence isn’t as great as he’d want at the moment. I’m going to reserve judgment on a few things for a bit longer.’

Baros has also admitted that he isn’t exactly full of confidence at the moment: ‘It’s not easy to be out for nearly four months and then come back. It’s one of the longest spells I’ve been out but I’m working hard in training and feeling better every day. I just need to get back to playing games and getting my confidence. I don’t know what more I can do apart from training hard. Hopefully it will come soon. Goals give you a lift so it would be nice to score tomorrow, but the main thing is to get points.’

Come on Milan, prove your doubters wrong, grab a few goals and silence the Anfield boys today!
