Martin O’Neill thought we struggled to get out of the blocks today, but he was pleased with our second half improvement.

Speaking on the official site after the 1-1 draw with Wolves Monny was disappointed that it took us so long to get going in the match. It’s a derby clash, the players should’ve been up for it from the first minute!

‘We didn’t play well in the first half.

‘Maybe it’s because it was a derby game. But there wasn’t a great deal of football played in the first half.

‘We were playing against a side who are playing with plenty of spirit and enthusiasm. But I was disappointed we didn’t get to grips with the game early on.’

Given what I’ve read so far from people who saw the match, we weren’t really that much better in the second half either.

But yet again there were absolutely no changes from us apart from the obligatory 20 mins for Heskey with Carew going off.

We all have our own thoughts so I’m not going to bother repeating mine, they are well known already.

At least we didn’t lose though, and it is another point in the bag, but the bottom line remains we have shown have we can play against the big boys, Liverpool and Chelsea. It’s about time we took that form into games that we expect a result from.

Until we can consistently perform to those levels things will never change.
