Martin O’Neill spoke to the Official Site after the 3-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup 4th round.

The Villa boss was full of praise for the win and said that Fabian Delph ‘showed what he is capable of’ adding ‘I think he has a real future ahead of him’.

Can’t argue with that, if you weren’t one of the 39 750 there today, watch the highlights on ITV tonight to see a great goal by Delph, also great efforts from Nathan Delfouneso who looked very lively and also hit the post and the growing in confidence Ashley Young.

MON added on Delph, ‘He took the goal magnificently and I am just really pleased for him. He obviously got a little bit tired during the course of the game, not having played that much, but it was a great performance from him.’

MON also explained that ideally James Milner wouldn’t have been required, or not so early, but after poor Marc Albrighton picked up an injury after setting up our first goal brilliantly, there was no choice. On Milner he said: ‘When he came on, we thought we’d just keep him out in that position (vacated by Albrighton on the left side) but when he came central (in the second half), he took the game over.’

MON also says they are going all out for another Wembley final admitting some of it is down to the luck of the draw (after the ITV match tomorrow pm)

‘We are in the fifth round and of course you would need the luck of the draw. We would definitely be trying.’
