MON Says Young Exclusion Might Do Him Good

MON has said in the Express & Star that Ashley Young not being called up to the England squad might this time be a good thing as the player can ‘recharge his batteries’.

He ays although the player might not agree, it ‘may actually do him a bit of good.’ Explaining ‘It is a chance to recharge and have a proper break, which he hasn’t had yet. He has played a lot of games for us and he will come back fresh and raring to go again. Whatever people might think he has still been doing splendidly for us and while not every single thing he has done has come to fruition it doesn’t matter, he is so important for us.’

Adding that obviously the winger will be disappointed but at his age there is ‘plenty of time for him’ to push his credentials.

Lets face it, Ash hasn’t hit anywhere near top form this season and so if he’d automatically been selected for the England squad it might have done more harm than good?

He also says that Ash gets a rough ride on the pitch as opponents crunch in on him but says he’ll have to learn to ride with the punches and get on with it!
