Where has all the Villa transfer gossip gone? I live for rumours and speculation… Come on papers, surely you can make up a link or two to keep us going until we get some real signings!?
According to the Mirror today, under pressure Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate wants to off-load perennial miss-fit Mido and bring in Marlon Harewood. Not sure what the Boro fans would make of that, maybe he’d be the answer for their relegation fight, he certainly is no longer in Martin O’Neill’s plans but obviously can’t be sold until we get at least one new striker in. As long as that striker is the Egyptian Mido, we’ll be ok!
The Daily Mirror also says that Manchester City’s young striker Daniel Sturridge might be on his way out as he is still waiting for contract talks to re-start. Hmmm, don’t know a massive amount about him but he certainly looks a good future prospect! FFS, I’m having to make up my own links now, this really isn’t good is it?!
Oh and the man that makes my skin crawl at times Harry Redknapp did a great job of boosting Spurs striker Darren Bent’s confidence after his miss v Pompey yesterday by gobbing off to the press: ‘You will never get a better chance to win a match than that. My missus could have scored that one. Bent did not only have part of the goal to aim for, but he had the entire net – and he put it wide. Unbelievable. I was just so frustrated.’ Orrible Arry. Why mention it? Well, we have been linked with the striker!
