Moustapha Work Permit!

The official site have confirmed the rumblings that late summer signing Moustapha Salifou has had work permit troubles so has been unable to join up with the team.

Following his signing a new Vital forum member suggested he was being rejected due to work permits and in truth most of the board members thought the poster was winding us up. Seems he wasn’t so wide of the mark after-all!

Martin O’Neill explained: ‘He should be here in the next couple of days. He had a bit of difficulty in getting the work permit, or a renewal, whatever it was. I have been told by the agent and the club that he should be here in the next couple of days. We will have to have a look and see what sort of shape he is in. He has been training with the team that we took him from.’

Bit strange that the official site brought out some old comments including this from the Villa boss though! ‘For somebody who’s played 40 internationals at 24 years of age, it was a deal well worth doing for us and getting a work permit wasn’t a problem. It’s absolutely and utterly risk-free.’
