“My Word” “Tidy” – Villa Youngster Takes The Praise After Impressive Celtic Showing

|

Young Aston Villa goalkeeper Matija Sarkic headed up north for a loan spell out with Scottish Premiership side Livingston during the last transfer window, and the 22-year-old stopper has already impressed in four Scottish League Cup appearances for his new side.

The Montenegro youth international has had to be patient for his league debut, but that came last Sunday as Livingston hosted giants Celtic, and our young lad only went and helped himself to a clean sheet as they took a somewhat unexpected 2-0 victory on the afternoon and sent Neil Lennon’s side to their first defeat of the season.

He even helped himself to an assist on the day.

Having come in for praise for his efforts already during his spell at ‘The Spagettihad’ so far this year, the plaudits were flowing after that performance and rightly so. It should do his confidence the world of good and surely the position is now his to lose and his game time should rocket?
