Villa will be without the usual suspects for Sunday’s match against Newcastle United.

Gabby Agbonlahor is still struggling with his hamstring problem, James Collins hasn’t yet shaken his calf problem and Carlos Cuellar is also still suffering with his hamstring. Steve Sidwell has also failed to recover in time following his achilles issue.

Added to the list is Andy Weimann following his ankle injury in last nights Rapid Vienna match.

Speaking on the Official Site Kevin MacDonald said:

‘Andy will not be available for a while now and the scan will tell us more. James, Carlos and Gabby are hoping to play in some kind of game early next week but they won’t be available for this week.

‘The only other one is Steve, with an achilles tendon injury.’

In better news though the hobbling Ashley Young and the rumoured knee of John Carew are fine, and Big Mac has everybody else back which I presume includes Richard Dunne and Luke Young to pick from.

With regards to Stephen Ireland, Mac added:

‘Stephen is obviously going to be involved – whether he starts I can’t tell you that.’
