Steve Bruce was pretty bullish when talking about Jack Grealish’s potential transfer to Tottenham. The manager says Spurs are “nowhere near” close to meeting our asking price.
As it stands, there have been formal talks but no official bid has been made, and with just under a week to go to the transfer deadline, a move to the Premier League side isn’t looking likely.
When we asked supporters about where they think Jack will end up after the window closes, only a quarter think he’ll be a Tottenham player:
It’s very much about who will blink first in these negotiations. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is certainly under pressure after failing to secure any signings so far this summer. He is notorious for getting deals done close to deadline day, but he is facing a determined opponent.
We are definitely in a position of strength, and Bruce’s words indicate as much. Hopefully, we will stick to our guns and not let him go for a penny less than he’s worth.
