David O’Leary is looking forward to the first game of the season as Villa travel to Arsenal. However this time there will be no ‘homecoming’ for the former Arsenal defender as Villa will be the first Premiership visitors to their new Emirates Stadium at Ashburton Grove.

The game is provisionally set for August 19th.
And O’Leary told the official site:

‘It will be strange going to Arsenal, but not going to Highbury. But the new stadium looks absolutely wonderful. I loved Highbury and enjoyed some fantastic moments there, but Arsenal had to move on and they’re moving on to a terrific stadium.’

‘I look forward to my first trip there and these are the big games I relish going into. I want the players to relish facing the top sides.’
