Celtic defender Bobo Balde has played down links to an Aston Villa move telling the Daily Record:

‘I know nothing about Aston Villa and I’m not even thinking about that. I have three years left on my contract, which is okay as I’ve been away for six months after having an operation, but I’m now on my way back. I had a good time working for Martin but I have my contract here and I have too much respect for the club to speak about O’Neill as he’s no longer in charge. Playing now is not my main focus because I have to get my fitness back and I’m worrying about nothing else. I’m delighted to see the team doing well and I’m certainly not waiting for them to fail before I get my place back.’

Henrik Larsson has also denied any intention to move to Villa, although Martin O’Neill also denied he was going to! Blimey, managers have to spend half their time talking about who they aren’t going to sign these days!

Celtic legend Larsson told Expressen: ‘I have said everything I have to say about that matter.’ then continues (!) ‘Martin O’Neill is a fantastic coach and I have got fantastic memories together with him, but I will stay at Helsingborg.’

Oh well, no rumours in the papers today, so we might as well make some up. Apparently we are going to re-sign Alan Thompson. I’ll publish a denial tomorrow!

  • i’ll make one up too. David Beckham is being linked with a move to Aston Villa after the midfielder became unsettled at Real Madrid

  • WOW! David Beckham! I’ve got to tell all my mates about that rumour now……………..You see how easy it is, Christo? Do you work for a tabloid? If not make an application today and tell them I SENT YOU.

  • I’ve heard the Beckham rumour too. He was at The Walkers on Tuesday evening wearing a false goatee and a wig, and a Villa scarf wrapped proudly round his neck. Spice was with him, but thinking about it it could very well have been Alan Thomson.

  • I heard that Paul “God” Mcgraph was coming out of retirement along with Dennis Mortimer to sign for the Villa, just on short term contracts till Jan, obviously when they prove their fitness they will be offered longer term contracts, (more believable than

  • Wonder why Henrik Larsson has never shown a desire to play in the premiership? You’d have thought he would have loved the opportunity, while I’m sure he would have been a huge success if he had have made the move.
