David O’Leary has spoken about his pride for the team following the 4-0 thrashing – yes I said 4-0 thrashing of Boro today.

O’Leary told the official site:

‘I’m delighted for the players and I’m proud of them, because they’re a great close-knit bunch. They produced a great performance here and we were really good value for the three points. We were on top from the very first whistle and that’s not that easy here. We talked in midweek about the need to turn a few of these draws into wins and now we’ve done it in style.’

Close-knit? Great, this is the second time he has mentioned how close the team have now got. Maybe they have finally gelled and are using the ‘us against the world’ type of attitude they need when the club has an old miser in charge!

He also says a few back to back would make a big difference as our draws this season (9 in total) although hard fought don’t move you very far in the league before adding:

‘I’m delighted for Luke Moore. He came in because of an injury to Milan Baros and he’s taken his chance in style. He’s certainly given me something to think about. The brilliant fans who cheered our every kick today have gone home happy and I’m delighted about that.’

And great to see the fans saluted, now we need some praise for the majority of superb home fans and all will be well in the world! Our latest poll is asking fans who they would prefer to manage the club, O’Leary, Souness or Noddy. Noddy was the clear leader earlier with 70% but after this win, I’m sure O’Leary will give Noddy a run for his money!!!
