Really no gossip at all at the moment, but then it is still holiday time for players, agents, officials at clubs etc so maybe it will start next week as we get closer to pre-season training and the Euro`s come to an end!

Only thing we`ve got is Mirror correspondent

James Nursey ?@JamesNursey

Also #AVFC NOT going to sign Kyle Naughton apparently. Lambert lining up a different right-back to replace Hutton but I’m unsure who tbh

Which is a shame as it appears from our thread that he would be good! Thread: Click Here

James also tweeted on the 23rd: As for ‪#AVFC‬ transfer goss, reliably told club working on some deals but nothing close or imminent.

Meanwhile Darren Bent has spoken to James at The Mirror. The 28-year-old striker has met Lambert this week and says Villa are going places.

He seems sure that Lambert knows the targets he wants and that he only wants those who will put in 100% for the Villa.

“We also have some good youngsters coming through and this year is their chance to shine. With one or two additions he brings in, it could be a really good year for us.”

He also said the sale of Ashley Young and Steward Downing hit them hard last year as they are amongst the best wingers in the country and without them not so much was created. Hmmm. I think it you look at the starts of assists etc, they weren`t quite as glorious as they could have been to be fair but hey, point is right, you can`t sell top players all the time without replacing.

Unless the kids really do shine through now. Must admit, I`d prefer that to journeymen any day of the week!
