Tony Finnegan, the agent of West Ham United`s Nigel Reo-Coker has denied that his client has already had a medical with Aston Villa, and that no formal deal has been agreed as of yet.
Rumours built up over the weekend that Reo-Coker, who is all but certain to leave The Hammers this summer had been at Villa`s brand new Bodymoor Heath Training Ground over the weekend, and that the player would be unveiled at some point this week. It now appears however this isn`t the case and the two clubs are still trying to trash out a fee for the midfield man.
Speaking to BBC London radio, Finnegan said: ‘Where we are at now is that we are waiting for the two clubs to agree a price.
There has been no medical. The lad has been waiting to go on holiday.’
He added: ‘We thought there may have been a deal last week. Everybody knows Villa are interested in the lad. We’re just waiting to get the agreement between the two clubs.”
Villa are believed to have offered around the £7million mark, with Alan Curbishley seemingly reluctant to let the player leave for anything less than £10million.
