The Daily Star has quotes from Charles N`Zogbia saying that he is not going on strike. Phew, we don`t want ‘that` sort of player obviously but we do want him! lol
The report also quotes Alex McLeish on the situation.
“I would love it to happen quickly. But it`s not down to me. The admin side is not my department. I can only recommend the players and then it`s up to the club, but they have been trying very hard. For now we are concentrating on this one. I have no worries about young Marc Albrighton because he has a great future, but we need someone on the other side.”
He also points out that Darren Bent (who scores 24 goals next season in the league btw, sorry to spoil the surprise for you) needs the service from out wide.
N`Zogbia said: “Strike, me? Not at all. It`s been two-and-a-half years that I have played for Wigan and I think I`ve given enough, but it`s not for me to demand a transfer.”
The Guardian report that Zoggy hasn`t gone with the rest of the team for Wigan`s pre-season tour of Austria and that Dave Whelan has conceded defeat in trying to keep the winger.

And if we don`t get Zoggy? Well, I think we will anyway but… The Mirror say that Villa have enquired about Spartak Moscow and former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady. Apparently he might be available for around less than Zoggy.

Sky Sports say Celtic newbie Victor Wanyama turned down interest from Villa. Difficult to believe when it is just one more player, in all likelihood, that we are going for. Sometimes an enquiry is made, that does not mean a bid was about to follow.
