Well this was an interview piece from manager Tim Sherwood that I wasn’t expecting to see.
The long forgotten Charles N’Zogbia featured in the gaffers thoughts in his pre game press conference, despite not playing a single minute so far in 2015-16.
Sherwood was actually speaking ahead of the loss to Chelsea, but apparently Charlie boy did travel with the group although he wasn’t in the match day squad.
The Official Site carried the following.
‘Charles is back in the squad. He’s a talented player and has the experience we might need in a difficult situation. He’s in the group.’
Everybody has their own thoughts on Charlie Boy, he came in talking about having a European adventure with us and hoping we lived up to his expectations in many way – and we all know how that went but we also know how his form went and without a shadow of a doubt we have never seen the N’Zogbia that he’s capable of being so at this stage with our troubles…
Running chicken-like down the wing or through the middle and taking on seven men too many before losing the ball – I’m not sure that’s what we need – unless Sherwood has brought him up because we are seeing his old Wigan form on the training pitch?
Emotions are high again after the Chelsea loss, but plenty have also picked out positives.
The starting eleven needs changes – but I’m not convinced Zoggy is one of them – we have better options or at least options who will benefit from the game time and get better.
