The official verdict isn’t out yet on the OS, but Sky are carrying their interview with him on SSN, so I’ll use that instead.

Speaking to Sky Sports News (bet you didn’t see that coming) Monny has obviously hailed the performance and determination of the squad to fightback from 2-0 down within the first 30 minutes in tonight’s match, and secure ourselves a place in the Carling Cup Final with an end of match score of 6-4. (7-4 on aggregate, although why it’s different if you are on gravel I don’t know).

‘I am absolutely delighted, it has been a big effort. We fought back fantastically and deserved to go through over the two legs.’

Whilst Sam Allardyce in his interview with the BBC directly after the match seemed more concerned with rubbishing the referee for letting us back into the match and finding excuses, instead of praising his players for being part of one of the best semi finals ever, O’Neill chose his words carefully and simply reminded Sam of the first leg.

‘We could have been well ahead in this tie if the referee had made the decision for us in the first game.’

Specifically referencing the handball in the box to which Blackburn received the freekick, and the blatant foul on Gabby in the box, to which he received a yellow card.

Yup, O’Neill won the battle of which Ref was crap during the two legs aswell.
