Vital Villa asked this week whether David O’Leary will survive until Easter. The poll followed on from reports that O’Leary has been given to Easter to steady the good ship Aston Villa or face the axe.

O’Leary has today said that he won’t be walking away but according to this poll, the vast majority of fans would like him too. So the fans have turned, it seems the press have turned, now all eyes will be on Doug to see if and when he turns.

Only 16% said they hope O’Leary will survive, 43% said they hoped he wouldn’t, 25% said he would go at the end of the season and a further 16% said he should leave immediately.

It will be interesting to see how Villa fair against Fulham tomorrow, the mood of the home crowd has worsened this season, as have the attendances. Despite the club giving the kids for a quid promotion, I can’t see the attendance being much over 30 000 and so the trend will continue unless investment is found for a manager worthy of leading the team up the tables in the forthcoming seasons.
