Martin O’Neill says the ‘relationship between crowd and players in this vital run-in is of utmost importance.’

I think in a warning against the booing seen at the end of the Stoke game, he says on the Official Site:

‘Crowds can get agitated very quickly – although I don’t think our crowd has had too much to be agitated about this season. There will be twists and turns – ups and downs in games – and it’s important the crowd stays with the team throughout everything. That’s absolutely vital. It’s so, so important.’

Nice to see the manager and hopefully players know it is a two way street this, sometimes the players need to be seen to be giving blood on the pitch to get the 12th man fully vocal?!?

MON continued, in an impassioned plea, ‘I have said many times in the past that fans who pay their money have a right to voice their opinion but I think now – more than ever – it is essential we have a genuine team effort. This is about crowd and players teaming up together. We must work hard together to stay in that top four.’

‘There is a dual responsibility – the crowd has to lift the players when things are going not so brilliantly and players have to lift the crowd too with their performances.’

We seem to have said this a lot recently, but our next game really is a CRUNCH game.

I hope Villa go into the game v Spurs on March 15th like it is a cup final. We simply CANNOT lose this one, not with Arsenal getting a sniff of 4th place and being within 1 win of equaling our points total.

Ok we’ve had a couple of rocky results recently, that doesn’t mean the team can’t get back on track. Stoke draw? These things happen, they shouldn’t but our lads still have a bit to learn about killing games and Man City away? No major shock, they are a bogey team and we did sort of lay down for them in the first half! That doesn’t mean the whole season has to go to waste though, a win v Spurs would set us up very nicely to take on Liverpool at Anfield wouldn’t it?

Villa are currently having a break from routine (but not training) in Dubai, hopefully that will do them the world of good and re-charge their batteries. Wish they had needed a bottle carrier, I could have done that and re-charged my batteries !!!!!!!!

So surely Villa Park has to be a sell out on March 15 so we can shout our heads off and inspire the team to give us even more to shout about?
