Martin O’Neill said after the 2-2 draw in the Inter that the result sets Villa up for next week at home.

The Villa boss told the official site:

‘We’ve drawn the game and scored two goals away from home. Considering the circumstances I’m reasonably satisfied. By the time we play them again next week we should be much fitter.’

Yup, another week of training and a few new arrivals and off we go!

He added, that he felt we started well and the own goal by new boy Steve Sidwell was unavoidable and admitted Villa started to look tired in the second half adding:

‘It was just disappointing that we conceded so late in the game. But it’s all set up now for Villa Park next week. I would expect that by this time next week we’d be much, much fitter again and that’s important. We’ve been at it for just over a fortnight now and it was so important for us tonight to stay in the competition. We’ve scored the two goals and we’ll be better for next week.’
