Martin O’Neill has told the official site that he is still looking to add a few bodies to the squad as we move towards the close of the January transfer window.
The last chance is February 2 at 5pm so no doubt the directors and Martin O’Neill will be trying their best before Monday to add the sort of quality required!
Looks like it could go to the wire, are our nerves up to it?
He told AVTV: ‘In an ideal world, it would be great if we could add to the squad. It would be great to get one or two extra people in. With Martin Laursen out, we are looking to try and add defensively. I just feel we could do with some more defensive cover. I will pursue it right until the end because after the transfer window closes, that’s it. That’s your lot.’
Adding, ‘I will try and do something, even at this late stage. There are a couple of things we are working on but I can’t say they are very, very close but we are working on them.’
