Martin O’Neill has told Gareth Barry to be patient in his quest for an international re-call saying ‘Your chance will come.’
The new England boss Steve McClaren has carried on where Sven left off in ignoring our left sided midfielder despite the fact the player is in the form of his life.

Many feel that Barry should have at least made the squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Macedonia and Croatia.

O’Neill told the official site: ‘I’m disappointed for Gareth that he didn’t get into the squad, I really am. It is disappointing when players are taking themselves away for international games and one of our best players isn’t going with them. But it will come, I promise you, it will come. I will talk to him about it, but it will definitely come – there is absolutely no question about that – no question. There is nothing for him to get anxious about. I haven’t spoken to Steve McClaren about it. That is not my job yet.’
