According to Pete O’Rourke of the Football Insider, Callum O’Hare could leave Aston Villa in January, with Dean Smith happy to let the forward ‘move on loan’. O’Hare has made just one first-team appearance for Villa this season and could spend the next five months getting competitive football elsewhere.

The 20-year-old is believed to have interest from League One duo Burton Albion & Bristol Rovers and League Two sides Exeter City & Mansfield Town. O’Hare has made only nine appearances in the Villa senior squad, having spent the majority of his time in the u23s – 59 appearances, 15 goals.

A loan move away from Villa Park could give the forward a big opportunity to prove his worth and earn himself a new deal in the process. If O’Hare can impress with another club, he could yet have a future in the Midlands. The lack of playing time up to this point suggests his time at Villa could well be up, however.

O’Hare has not featured in the Championship this season, only being an unused substitute on five occasions, so he has a long way to go to impress Smith.
