“Outstanding” “Get Some Rest” “Olympic Champion” – These Villa Fans React To Players Latest Achievement

Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz tasted both defeat and a lack of game time at the recent Copa America competition where Brazil made it to the final, losing out to Emi Martinez’s Argentina side, but the 23-year-old talent went one step further at the Olympics in Tokyo as he was more regularly on the pitch – and earlier this afternoon he helped them to victory over Spain in the Final.

With the scores tied at the end of 90 minutes, the game was set to be decided by either extra time or penalties, but with Malcom grabbing the match winner in minute 108, Luiz gets a Gold medal for his efforts across the competition and his 120 minutes in the Final 2-1 victory.

Congratulations Dougie, enjoy it and celebrate it and then recover properly over your extended break as we’re looking forward to seeing you back at Bodymoor Heath and pushing to get your spot back in the middle of the park and playing your part in pushing us to achieve the aim that head coach Dean Smith has laid out for the 2021/22 campaign – European football.
