With Nigel Reo-Coker suspended, there’s a doubt over one of his possible replacements as Isaiah Osbourne may sit out Sunday’s trip to the Reebok through injury.

Osbourne picked up a groin injury as he fell awkwardly during the reserves 6-0 spanking of Chelsea, and now the weekend may come too soon, limiting Martin O’Neill’s options even further. Small squad, honest lads, are we still sugarbags for complaining about the lack of backup?

O’Neill told avfc.co.uk: “He got injured on Monday night, but hopefully he’ll be OK – it was one of those where he was stretching for the ball and fell awkwardly.

“The doctor assessed him on Monday night and it’s around about the same area as his previous groin problem. But we’re hoping it’s not too serious.”

There are currently no reports of injury to Stiliyan Petrov, sadly.
