LOL, some very strange and funny quotes as highlighted in the Birmingham Mail from Paul Lambert today.

Is this pressure? Is he usually narky with press? Whatever, made me laugh!

He apparently asked one journalist if he`d swallowed a ‘negative book` adding, “Every question you ask is negative. Gabby is playing well…really, really well.”

To be fair, it is the presses job to ask questions and the questions are pretty obvious at the moment, we are short on goals aren`t we?

“The team is going really fine. I have no problem with Gabby. If that`s your take on it, that`s your take on it.”

He also refused to talk any further about Darren Bent saying he had already answered 305 questions about him the other night. Which is fair, he did answer the same question about 20 times and at some stage we all have to accept, it is his job to make these decisions, he gets the plaudits if right, he gets sacked if not I guess, as is the way with football.

“I want to win the game. It`s not rocket science.” And says on the lack of goals, “It`s not something I`m actually overly worried about, because I know it will come.”

He also pointed to a ‘really really fine` run of games, four unbeaten and 3 clean sheets.

Q.P.R. 1 – 1 Aston Villa
Aston Villa 1 – 0 Reading
Aston Villa 0 – 0 Arsenal

Not sure that it is worth getting narky with the press though, you need them on your side and it is their job to ask relevant questions. The Bent situation, agree or not, is a big decision made by the manager. The lack of goals is an obvious problem. Not sure I like it when managers start to ‘turn` on press because it shows that things are pressured or not quite right. Or am I reading that wrong?

Oh to be a fly on the wall at some of these things!

Quicker we pull away from the lower end of the table, the quicker the pressure will start to lift. One great positive is the team don`t seem to be letting it get to them, which for a young side, is outstanding really. A win v Norwich and 3 points at Anfield wouldn`t make for a bad week would it?! There, I`ve just swallowed a positive book!
