England U21 manager Stuart Pearce believes his side showed great character as they came back from two goals down to draw with Spain U21 with goals from David Nugent & Leroy Lita – going on to praise the opposition, who he dubbed as ‘superb’ in the first half.

  • Still would like very much to see David Nugent at VP. I rate the guy as already better than Darren Bent, he just needs the premiership stage week in, week out. Mind you, he’s probably going to get that now with PNE, and as we’ve landed Big John, our need for a top notch central striker is not so demanding. Leroy Lita is on fire at the moment, we need to keep him quiet on Saturday.

  • Cant quite understand this Stuart Pearce role though. He cant commit to the job full time obviously, but wasn’t that one of the main reasons that the F.A. decided that Peter Taylor had to go?
