Stiliyan Petrov is set for two weeks on the sidelines having picked up a hamstring injury against Arsenal on Saturday.

It’s a big blow for the Bulgarian international, who had turned in a number of improved performances of late.

Petrov will now miss matches against Portsmouth and Sunderland with Craig Gardner a likely replacement. The injury to the former Celtic midfielder may also give an opportunity to Martin O’Neill to try out Togo international Moustapha Salifou.
