David O’Leary has rubbished talk of Eric Djemba-Djemba leaving Villa on loan to a Spanish club. However the player himself is adamant that he wants out.

We reported yesterday that the Cameroon international’s agent said that Jumper Jumper was set to leave Jumper Jumper Set To Leave – Click Here

But O’Leary said today: ‘The Eric Djemba-Djemba stuff just isn’t true. There’s that many rumours in football, but I can still say nobody has been in touch with me. I’m not going to speculate on something that’s pure speculation. I’ll try to deal in fact and I haven’t received a call about any of my players.’

Not speculating on speculation? I’d be out of a job if we took that policy!

The 24-year-old midfielder, who is currently at the African Cup of Nations representing Cameroon, says quite the opposite in an interview with Ouest-France:

‘There is no doubt I will move to Spain after the African Cup of Nations. At Aston Villa I have found a coach who hasn’t understood all the smoothness of French football.’

The former Manchester United player has made only ten appearances since his move, seems only the agents have had any benefit from the transfer, oh and Manchester United obviously!
