Manager Steve Bruce has given an injury update following the game against Norwich City earlier today.

With Mile Jedinak returning to full training at the beginning of the week, amazingly Villa managed to win a game without his involvement as Bruce explained he just missed out as he didn’t want to rush him with his return being so ‘close’.

That obviously means he’ll be assessed ahead of Tuesday evening’s EFL Cup tie against Wigan Athletic or after that, Bristol City.

Tottenham loanee Josh Onomah was substituted on the half hour mark with a head injury and he’ll be assessed over the coming 48 hours as is procedure.

Bruce also confirmed Gabby Agbonlahor missed out with a back injury and would also have to be assessed ahead of the Wigan game.

Speaking to the Official Site in his post game press conference, Bruce explained.

‘Josh has a head injury. We don`t know the extent of that yet. That was disappointing. Mile was close. But he was sore yesterday. We have put a lot of work into him. We will see how he is in the week. Gabby had a twinge in his back.’
