Chelsea are the latest team to be linked with a move for Jack Grealish. TeamTalk reports that the London club have already made a bid for our.10.

Sources told the website that the Blues are prepared to pay £30m for the 22-year-old, and they are willing to loan back the playmaker for the 2018/19 season.

The Premier League side are hopeful that the offer of sending him back to us temporarily could help them beat their rivals to the midfielder’s signature.

Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Newcastle are also said to be interested in our talisman, and the player’s future could be decided imminently.

We are said to have placed a £40million price tag on the midfielder, but Sky Sports are saying that a meeting will be held today to talk about Jack, along with the club’s wage and transfer budget.

It’s looking likely then that Grealish’s future is close to being decided.

  • Nice of Chelsea. Good deal. Would take that. Especially as scrooge spurs if true were being 8nsulting with fees mentioned.

  • We would be mental not to take that offer considering the position we are in. Not sure TeamTalk are the most reliable when it comes to transfer rumours though

  • With the mad fees being paid, £30m is still relative peanuts. Beggars can’t be choosers they say, but we should still play harder, as Grealish remains a rare commodity. Despite our huge difficulties we should be hopeful of a bit of a bidding war, as he will have many suitors.

Of course, a loan back would be better than losing him altogether, but if he is to go we must negotiate the highest possible sell on clause too. Trouble with going to a top club like Chelsea, rather than, say, Leicester, is that if he did prove himself at the highest level, as I’m confident he would, a sell-on would be less likely if he was already at a top club.

  • I don’t think I buy this. Why would they want to do that? He’s good enough to make the step up, he gets kicked to death in the Championship. Hmmm.
