“Villa started all over the place and Liverpool missed great chances in the first 15-20 mins. So how did Villa manage to end up winners?
Well, they managed to win because they started to get themselves organised and then the tackles came in and you know what? Every single one of them today was committed”
He added, “When the ball was there to be won, they won the ball, they managed to get all sorts of people back as the half went on. Liverpool still made chances but Villa really got on with it, no heads dropped, that was the great thing about them, they got on with it even when under pressure.”
He also added that despite Christian Benteke being the stand out man, “It was a real team performance”.
