QPR have slapped on a £10million price tag on reported Villa target Lee Cook.

QPR’s chairman, Gianni Paladini, told the Kilburn Times that the 24-year-old winger won’t be sold on the cheap.

‘I tell you, the asking price is £10million if anyone wants to get Lee Cook. There are several clubs after him and we know that people have been scouting him because he’s playing so well this season. But I want to make this clear – we persuaded Lee to sign a new contract with us because we want to keep him at the club.’

‘Maybe nobody will give me credit for this, but I felt it was one of the most important pieces of business we had to do in the summer.’

£10million for a Championship player isn’t an option, the days of silly transfer fees, unless Chelsea are involved, surely have to end?
